Are you ready for the 2010 Friends of Lake Manawa Annual Meeting?

Our annual meeting will be held this year on October 20th, 2010, at 7:00 PM at the West Historic Trails Center.

October 6, 2010

Dear Friends of Lake Manawa Member:

You are invited and strongly urged to attend the ANNUAL MEETING of the FRIENDS OF LAKE MANAWA, a nonprofit organization, called by the Board of Directors, which will be held on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 20th at 7:00 p.m. at the WESTERN HISTORIC TRAILS CENTER, 3434 Richard Downing Avenue, Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The Annual Meeting of the Friends of Lake Manawa, Inc. is being called for the purpose of:
1. Electing Directors – take nominations and vote for FOUR, three year positions on the board of directors. The following board members are up for re-election and have agreed to serve if elected: Stacy Genereaux, Tom Braddy, Todd McCarty and Gary Woods. Additional nominations will be accepted from the floor at the meeting.
2. Voting on whether or not to repeal the present By-laws and adopt the new, proposed By-laws that will supersede all prior By-laws. New By-laws are necessary to be in compliance with the current requirements for Iowa Nonprofit Groups. The existing and new proposed By-laws can be found at www.friendsoflakemanawa.org and on our group Facebook page for your review. Copies may be obtained by calling 712-256-6888, and will also be available at the annual meeting.
3. Presentation of the FOLM annual report.
4. Transact such business as may properly come before the board.
5. Update the membership on current FOLM projects, including the dredge and campground relocation.

In order to adopt the new By-laws, it is necessary that we have a simple majority quorum. If you cannot attend the meeting, please consider signing the enclosed proxy form and mailing it to FOLM, P.O. Box 775, Council Bluffs, IA 51501 or giving it someone who will be attending.

The doors will be open at 6:30 to allow time for member check-in and 2011 membership renewals. Thank you for your continued support of the Friends of Lake Manawa.

Sincerely,
Susan M. Walsh
